My digital apprenticeship: launching a career

In this short film, we catch up with apprentices and ex-apprentices from Accenture, BT and Capgemini to find out exactly how a digital apprenticeship has helped launch their career.

Shajida (Accenture) tells us about the range of opportunities waiting for her, which she puts down to a combination of three benefits the apprenticeship has given her: “The technical skill sets I’ve learned, the level of experience I’ve gained and the amount of people in the industry I’ve met.”

For Pallivi (Capgemini), the apprenticeship has provided her with 4 years of on-the-job learning and experience which most university graduates don’t have. “It separates you from everybody else,” she believes.

Luke (BT) says the digital apprenticeship has provided him with “so many career opportunities, and not just in technology”  and that’s because “Technology is at the heart of so many businesses and so many start-ups today.”

This film is one of a series of video shorts to promote digital apprenticeships, produced in association with Go Think Big, the online career hub from O2 for young people aged 16-24.

If you’re interested in hiring a digital apprentice but don't know where to start, you can find information about the opportunities and benefits apprentices can bring to your organisation, and what you need to do to get started.
