The UK-wide STEM Ambassadors Programme works with thousands of secondary schools and STEM employers to enable young people of all backgrounds and abilities to meet inspiring role models, understand real world applications of STEM subjects and experience hands-on STEM activities that bring learning and career opportunities to life.
If you volunteer as a STEM Ambassador, you will be updated by email with a wide range of opportunities and requests from schools. You can choose to volunteer for any of these activities or you can create your own ideas. The minimum commitment is to take part in one activity per year, although many volunteers do a lot more. STEM Ambassadors will go through an induction training session to cover information about volunteering, schools and legal responsibilities; and meet your local coordinator who organises a criminal records check, and is available to support engagement with schools.
Please note; from 1st August 2016, STEMNET will merge with STEM Learning Ltd. The STEM Ambassadors Programme will continue to welcome more volunteers to the programme, helping to provide opportunities to inspire young people in STEM subjects and careers.
